What you will do
Let’s do this! Let’s change the world! In this vital role you (the Senior Manager, Corporate Affairs, GenMed) will work cross-functionally with business partners and brand teams to develop and shape communications plans and content that support growth for Amgen’s GenMed portfolio, which includes innovative therapies for patients with cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis. This role will support initiatives to advance our bold ambition to halve the number of heart attacks and strokes by 2030, and drive awareness and activation around osteoporosis. The ideal candidate is an expert at managing multiple high-profile projects across a matrixed organization and working collaboratively with key stakeholders.
Responsibilities include:
Develop and implement communications strategies that support business objectives in collaboration with the commercial, medical and advocacy teams.
Conduct influencer mapping and engagement.
Work closely with advocacy relations team on communications initiatives that drive both Amgen and our advocacy partners' goals.
Lead the development of multimedia content elevating patient stories; direct agency development of content and manage multiple layers of review and distribution.
Craft FAQs, press releases, presentations, and develop communications materials in support of brand initiatives, programs and events for both internal and external audiences.
Lead the development of stories and pitches for media outreach; handle and guide external agencies around appropriate media pitches, spokespeople and message training.
Collaborate with corporate communications team to integrate brand-related initiatives into corporate communications efforts such as: employee communications, including employee intranet site, as well as external communications, including Amgen.com and several social media platforms.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills aimed at executives and a variety of audiences.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of Corporate Communications, Corporate Affairs or Marketing Communications experience
Or
Master’s degree and 4 years of Corporate Communications, Corporate Affairs or Marketing Communications experience
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Corporate Communications, Corporate Affairs or Marketing Communications experience
Or
Associate’s degree and 10 years of Corporate Communications, Corporate Affairs or Marketing Communications experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Corporate Communications, Corporate Affairs or Marketing Communications experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven ability to develop and execute multi-faceted strategic communications campaigns in a matrixed organization
Strategic and creative thinker with the ability to truly understand business challenges and priorities and develop actionable programs that integrate soundly with business objectives
Ability to interact with all levels of management and staff
Ability to efficiently navigate a challenging and dynamic environment and deal with rapidly changing priorities
Outstanding written and oral communication skills; ability to distill complex issues and information into simple, compelling and relevant messages
Demonstrated experience using social media and digital collaboration tools for professional communication
10+ years of diverse experience in agency and corporate roles across public relations, corporate communications, marketing, or other creative/content development field
Experience supporting pharmaceutical or biotechnology medicines and/or companies

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
